ATP Testing Kit Instructions

To use the ATP testing kit successfully, it is important to follow these steps, as they will ensure you get accurate results

  • Step 1

Turn on the Luminometer by holding down the red circle button for three seconds. The screen will prompt you to wait 15 seconds until the luminometer is ready to take a sample. You can take your sample in this time.

  • Step 2

Remove the swab from the sample tube, and swab the intended surface in a 10cm x 10cm area in a crisscross pattern, making sure to evenly swab the surface within the 10cm x 10cm area. Be sure to apply a good amount of pressure (a bend in the swab) when swabbing. Do not touch the swab stickwith your finger, as this may skew the results. Instead hold the swab by the plastic at the top of the swab. Rotate the swab as you swab to further ensure you get accurate results.

  • Step 3

Put the swab back into the tube. Now apply pressure to the stick inside the tube at the top, so as to break it. By doing this, you will release the solution into the swab at the bottom of the tube. Squeeze the top of the tube to ensure all the solution has reached the bottom. Shake the tube for 5 seconds to further ensureaccurate results.

  • Step 4

Open luminometer hatch and insert swab into the swab hole, with the top of the swab going in last. Close the lid, place the luminometer upright on a table and press ok. A result is generated in 15 seconds. This should give a reading on the screen. In this example, the wall generated a reading of 2
